Allegro Social Band
About Us
Allegro Social Band is a small and very friendly music group that meets fortnightly to play good music together. We don't take ourselves seriously at all, the atmosphere is always very chilled out and full of fun! I wanted to set up a chance for adult musicians to play together in an informal setting, where musicians can learn the art of playing in a group whilst having a fantastic experience and meeting fellow musicians.
The Band Structure
Main Instrument Section
The music we play in the Main Instrument Section at Allegro has different parts with varying difficulty, which are played together at the same time to create a rich texture. These are:
Part 1 (main melodies and advanced accompaniments),
Part 2 (Quite advanced accompaniments and close melody harmonies)
Parts 3 and 4 (usually quite easy accompaniments).
Whether you have just completed your tuition book and now know your notes or have been playing for a very long time, there will be a part for you to play that you will enjoy!
Freestyle Percussion Section
The Freestyle Percussion Section enables students who are new to music, or whose instrument is not possible to fit into the main section, to also have a place and join in the fun! No music reading is involved and no percussion experience required, just a chance to be creative with a selection of instruments provided!
Allegro is open to everyone aged 18 or over, including musicians who do not have lessons with me as well as current students. If you are unsure where you are up to with your playing but can read music reasonably well in different keys, you will also be very welcome to join!

Allegro Social Band meets fortnightly:
Wednesdays 6:30 pm- 7:30 pm at the Blythe Bridge and Forsbrook Village Hall.
